Sumitomo Heavy Industries Thailand was established in 2019 as a subsidiary of the Japanese mother company to deliver four of the SHI’s primary services to Thailand and other ASEAN countries: Mixing Vessels, Extrusion Coating Line, Coolant Systems, and Forklifts.
Target audiences
Sumitomo’s business is entirely B2B. SHI’s clients are companies seeking to purchase heavy and precision machinery components that have an unassailable pedigree, and can be counted on for uncompromising operational excellence backed by reliable service levels.

The Project - Scope of Work
Sumitomo’s old website in Thailand was outdated and needed to be refreshed to better reflect the company’s activities and offers. The old website was also due for improvements in the user-experience it delivered. SHI approached Vimi to help design and develop a new website that would be easy for SHI’s in-house team to maintain. The scope of work defined for the project was:
- Update the website’s technology, so it could be easily updated by SHI’s in-house team.
- Provide an easy-to-use experience for potential customers to quickly learn how they can benefit from the solutions SHI offers in ASEAN territories.
- Update the website’s look and feel to match current trends and best practices in web-design.
The outcome
Sumitomo’s new ASEAN website is a success and Vimi continues to support SHI with ongoing updates and upgrades upon request.
